ESR 10: Xhorxhina Shaulli
Xhorxhina Shaulli, 25 years old from Albania. I finished my BSc degree in Chemistry at University of Tirana in 2017. I hold a joint MSc degree in Chemistry under SERP+ program from Paris Saclay University, Adam Mickiewicz University and University of Porto. I did my master thesis internship at International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory studying polyplex systems (Polycation-DNA complexes) mainly using Cross-Correlation Spectroscopy.
As an early stage researcher within the SuperCol project I will be working under the supervision of professor Frank Scheffold at University of Fribourg, Switzerland. Our main interest is to gain insight on the nanoscale interactions of smart colloidal microgels using super resolution techniques and further on to explore the uptake and release mechanisms of small molecules into these microgels for potential biomedical applications.
Project topic: Designing responsive polymer particles for the controlled uptake and release of small molecules.
Exploring porous polymer colloids, such as stimuli responsive microgels, using super-resolution microscopy and advanced modeling to control, visualize and quantify their properties.
